In a recent project we placed a finance professional at a large, well known organization to support our client with their budgeting and reporting functions as well as with the project management and implementation of a new budgeting and planning system.

The responsibilities and role included:

  • Developed complex planning models used for their budgeting and forecasting processes. Key objective was to create a dynamic and automated model, that was easy to maintain and easy to complete the task for the end user. Incorporated the use of advanced techniques in Excel, VBA/Macros, user friendly design, and thorough documentation.
  • Updated and re-engineered the monthly & quarterly management reports used to track actual performance against plan and perform analysis of operating results. Key objective was to create a dynamic and automated report that reduced the monthly maintenance time. Incorporated the use of advanced techniques in Excel and dynamic formulas.
  • Provided technical support for the implementation of their new planning system used for budgeting and forecasting. Included technical design of dimensions, data structures, business rules, and workflows. Also supported the development of system customizations as well ETL and data management processes.
  • Provided project management for the implementation of their new planning system used for budgeting and forecasting. Included general project management administrative tasks, coordination of testing and user training, and the development of end-user documentation.

Business Intelligence, Database Development, Application Interfacing, and Reporting

We have extensive experience in database development, business intelligence software implementations, interfacing disparate applications in a centralized solution, and developing robust reporting.

In this project, we helped our healthcare industry client integrate their operating reporting systems, streamline their financial planning processes, improve their decision-making, and achieve their business objectives. Our primary role was in implementing and optimizing their BI Solutions (PowerBI and ClicData) to meet the client's specific financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.

The responsibilities and role included:

  • Developed programming interfaces to integrate third-party accounting, sales order, and inventory applications used to manage sales orders and inventory using advanced database and API scripting.
  • Developed and implemented data warehouse, ETL processes, and job scheduling.
  • Developed and implemented reporting tools (including PowerBI, ClicData) used for business intelligence, reporting, and data management.
  • Designed and developed dashboards and report used for financial analysis, budgeting, and management reporting.
  • Provided project management and technical support including ensuring defined requirements met objectives, identifying process improvement opportunities, and coordinating with teams to resolve system issues or questions.

In a recent project we placed a Fractional CFO to assist a start-up company in the set up and organization of it's finance and accounting functions, raise investor capital, and oversee their accounting system implementation.

  • Responsible for all aspects of accounting including bookkeeping, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Responsible for all tax and compliance filings.
  • Responsible for all aspects of finance including development of financial and strategic plans, preparation of Board materials and financial reports, and overseeing and administrating the overall planning, forecast, and quarterly processes.

Cognos TM1 Implementation, Project Management, & Technical Support

In a recent project, our Cognos TM1 Consultants played a crucial role in helping our healthcare industry client streamline their financial planning processes, improve their decision-making, and achieve their business objectives by leveraging the power of Cognos TM1. Our primary role was in implementing and optimizing Cognos TM1 to meet the client's specific financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.

The responsibilities and role included:
